Winner! 2023 Ned Holstein Research Award | Dr. Daniel Fernandez Kranz
Dr. Daniel Fernandez Kranz and Dr. Natalia Nollenberger Castro won the 2023 Ned Holstein Research Award from National Parents Organization. Dr. Kranz is an economist who looked at the impact of equal parenting time laws on family outcomes in Spain. Since Spain has some areas that have passed shared parenting laws and some areas who have not, his research was able to look at the effects of these laws on the welfare of families.
Daniel Fernández Kranz holds a Ph.D. in Economics by the University of Chicago and is currently an Associate Tenured Professor, Chair of the Economics Department, and Vice-Dean for Economics at IE University. His research focuses on Empirical Microeconomics in the areas of family economics, labor markets, gender economics and policy evaluation. His research has been published in international refereed journal such as the Journal of Human Resources, the Journal of Public Economics, and others. Daniel has taught economics at several master programs in IE and in advanced management programs and for companies in Spain and the United States. Before joining IE University, Daniel was an Economics Professor at Saint Louis University, Madrid, and an economic consultant at Nera Economic Consulting in the Chicago, Boston and Madrid offices, where he worked in cases related to antitrust and competition policy for companies in the software and telecommunications industries.
